Built around your season

Massage that speaks training.

Whether you are a competitive athlete, a weekend warrior, or simply someone who trains to stay healthy, sports massage in Fort Lauderdale with Carlos Blain, LMT, starts from your calendar: what you are training for, where you are in the season, and what your body is telling you after the last session.

With about 15 years of experience, training at the Swedish Institute in New York, and physical therapy studies and clinic work in Venezuela, Carlos thinks in movement, not just muscles. He assesses how chains of tissue work together — and against each other — so treatment targets the pattern, not only the sore spot.

Who this is for

Sports massage, specific to your sport.

The work changes with the demands of what you play:

  • Runners and triathletesCalves, hips, hamstrings and feet take repeated load; keeping those chains moving well can support smoother training blocks.
  • Golfers and tennis playersRotation, shoulders, elbows and forearms — the areas club and racquet sports load hardest, and where overuse often starts.
  • Swimmers and paddlersShoulder and upper-back work for athletes whose sport lives overhead.
  • Lifters and CrossFit athletesHips, shoulders and thoracic mobility under heavy, repeated load — and recovery between hard sessions.
  • Pickleball, soccer and basketball playersBroward’s busiest courts and fields: ankles, knees, hips and the tissue that handles quick changes of direction.
  • Pre-event, post-event and in-seasonLighter, brisker work before an event; slower recovery work after; maintenance through the season to help you keep training.
How Carlos works

Assessment first. Treatment second.

Your session starts with a consultation about your sport, training load, injury history and goals. A marathoner three weeks out and a golfer with a cranky shoulder need different work — the assessment sets the plan.

During treatment, Carlos assesses contractions, scar tissue, adhesions, tissue chains and compensation patterns live — for example, a restriction at the foot that can contribute to a shoulder problem. He switches among sports, deep tissue, medical and other techniques mid-session as the picture develops. You pay for time and expertise, never per technique.

Consultation · 10–15 minutes

Pain, injuries, surgeries, posture, habits and goals give the session its direction.

Live assessment

Hands-on assessment of contractions, scar tissue, adhesions, connected tissue chains and compensation patterns — before and during the hands-on work.

Tailored treatment · 60–90 minutes

Carlos selects and adjusts techniques around what the consultation and your body reveal, switching methods mid-session as needed — at one time-based price.

Recovery plan

3D anatomy explanation, stretches, exercises and practical home tools help the work continue after the session.

How much does a sports massage cost in Fort Lauderdale?
At Carlos Blain LMT, pricing is by time, not technique: in-office sessions are $180 for 60 minutes and $230 for 90 minutes; in-home sessions are $230 for 60 minutes and $310 for 90 minutes. First visits are $20 off, and HSA cards are accepted.
What’s the difference between sports massage and deep tissue massage?
Deep tissue describes depth — slower, focused work in the deeper layers. Sports massage describes purpose — work organized around your sport, your training calendar and your performance goals. In practice they overlap, and at Carlos’s practice you do not have to choose: the session adapts live and can combine both at the same price.
How often should I get a sports massage during training?
It depends on your training load and goals. Many athletes come every two to four weeks during the season, and closer together around peak training blocks or events. Carlos will help you set a pace that supports your training instead of interrupting it.
Should I book a sports massage before or after an event?
Both can help, used differently. In the one to three days before an event, work stays lighter and brisker — the goal is tissue that feels ready, not sore. A day or two after an event, slower recovery-focused work can support the process of getting back to training.
Do you offer in-home sports massage?
Yes. In-home sessions bring the same assessment-led treatment to your home in Fort Lauderdale and across South Florida, priced separately from in-office visits: $230 for 60 minutes and $310 for 90 minutes.
